DHTMLX Touch – JavaScript Framework for Mobile and Touch Devices

DHTMLX Touch alpha version is an HTML5-based JavaScript library for building mobile web applications. It’s not just a set of UI widgets, but a complete framework that allows you to create eye-catching, cross-platform web applications for mobile and touch-screen devices.

The framework is compatible with the major web browsers for mobile platforms. Applications built with DHTMLX Touch will run smoothly on iPad, iPhone, Android-based smartphones, and other popular devices.

Compatibility

DHTMLX Touch requires a mobile device to display and work correctly. You can also run the samples on usual computers in FireFox 3.6 and above and WebKit browsers (Safari, Chrome, etc.), but there still can be some issues since the library is oriented mostly for mobile devices.

FUEL CMS – A Rapid Development CodeIgniter CMS

At its core, FUEL CMS is a modular based, CodeIgniter development platform for creating web applications. You can create your models, views and controllers like normal and only use the CMS part when and if you need it. It’s a hybrid of a framework and a CMS.

FUEL CMS evolved out of the need for having a development platform that was a Framework first and a CMS second. CodeIgniter fit the bill as a lightweight PHP framework that didn’t try and do too much behind the scenes. It allowed us to cleanly structure our code and use MVC principles (when needed).

We developed it so it could be easily integrated into your existing projects allowing you to select where and how you want to use the CMS. The interface is highly customizable and easily extensible with modules.

Requirements: Apache, PHP 5 or greater and MySQL 4+

Ajax.org Platform

Ajax.org PlatForm is an application development framework (also called a library, or toolkit) aimed at developers for building applications that run via web browsers, but look and feel like conventional desktop applications. These Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) are a combination of the best of both worlds.

This Ajax.org PlatForm JumpStart Guide is intended for programmers and developers who are familiar with basic application development and programming methodologies. Most of the content requires a basic understanding of Ajax’ architectural departures from traditional client-server interactions.

However, Ajax.org Platform is firmly committed to the entire audience of Ajax users. The examples in this JumpStart Guide, and the accompanying documentation, are clearly and concisely presented. Our website, www. Ajax.org, has a variety of information presented in different media for your discovery and review. Please visit this space often, as you will be adding a significant amount of material over time.

The 1Kb CSS Grid

CSS frameworks have become quite popular over the past couple of years. Some of them try to fit in everything: a grid system, a style reset, basic typography, form styles, you name it. Others focus solely on the grid, but still end up a bit bloated. With added complexity comes… well, complexity: a steeper learning curve, increased development time, and — cringe — tougher debugging. Here is a fresh take on the CSS grid (loosely based on Nathan Smith’s 960 Grid System). Its mission is to be lightweight. It can be used to streamline page templates for content management. All this in just one measly kilobyte (actually, 662 bytes, but who’s counting).
